Switched from Google Keep to a plain text file for my grocery list

Honestly, I was tired of my family adding random stuff to the shared Keep list and then I'd still miss items because the app would glitch or lag at the store. So I switched to a simple .txt file on my phone's home screen. Ngl, it sounds dumb but it loads instantly and I just cross things off with asterisks as I go. Did this about 3 months ago after a trip to Publix where I forgot the milk because the app froze. It's been way more reliable, and I don't have to deal with notifications or syncing errors. Has anyone else ditched an app for something super basic like this?

Used to think apps were better but you've got a point.

Three years I stuck with Google Keep before I finally snapped last November... walked right into Lowe's without my phone charged and realized I couldn't even remember what I needed. Now I just keep a folded index card in my back pocket, sharpie in the car. Half the time I can't even find my phone in the grocery store chaos, but that card is always there. Your .txt file is basically the digital version of my card, just without the ink smudges.
