That one comment about my phone photos looking flat really got to me

My sister said my pictures had no depth so I finally learned to tap the screen to set exposure and focus separately, and now my sunset shots from the park last Saturday actually look like the real sky instead of a washed out mess, has anyone else had that lightbulb moment with a simple camera setting they ignored forever?

Amazing how sometimes the simplest fixes turn out to be the things we overlook for years.

Are we really calling this some deep life lesson though? Last week I spent two hours trying to figure out why my truck was making a weird noise, turns out it was just a loose gas cap. Not exactly a revelation about the universe or whatever. Sometimes you just overlook stuff cause you're in a hurry or not paying attention, not cause there's some hidden wisdom in it.
