Why did nobody tell me about using a candle to find air leaks around windows?
I was standing in my kitchen last winter feeling a draft near the old casement window and getting annoyed at my heating bill. After 3 tries with weatherstripping that did nothing, I lit a candle and moved it along the frame - the flame flickered like crazy right where the seal was broken. Has anyone else tried this or do you have a better way to spot those invisible gaps?

Smoke from incense works way better than a flickering candle.

You said "smoke from incense works way better," and I totally get that. The smoke curling up really does feel more alive somehow, like it has its own movement. A candle just sits there flickering, but incense smoke dances around and fills the whole room.
