Just cracked 100 jars of my grandma's pickle recipe

I've been making grandma's dill pickle recipe for about 2 years now. Yesterday I hit jar number 100 and I wasn't even keeping count till my husband pointed it out. I use the same old vinegar and dill mix she wrote on a napkin back in 1985. How many of you guys actually track how many times you've made a family recipe?

Love this. I keep a little notebook in my kitchen drawer with every batch of my aunt's banana bread I've made. I'm at 47 now. It's nice to look back and see how many times you've carried on a family tradition.

Keep counting to 47 though and see if it actually changes anything. My grandma made the best meatloaf recipe her whole life and I swear the last one tasted exactly like the first. Family traditions are fine but you're basically just making the same thing over and over and calling it meaningful. The bananas don't know how many times you've made it.

Yeah it's funny how we count things that don't really change.
