My grandma's old church cookbook from St. Paul is falling apart
I was trying to make her lemon bar recipe and a whole page came loose. Has anyone scanned something like this before without wrecking it more?

What kind of scanner are you looking at using? A flatbed where you lay it down is probably safest, but even then, pressing the lid down on a fragile page seems risky. Maybe you could take high quality photos with your phone instead, using good light and no flash. You could lay the page flat on a table and shoot straight down. That way you avoid any pressure on the binding or that loose page.
