Shoutout to the church potluck last Sunday that made me toss my baking powder
I brought my aunt's famous banana bread to the community supper at First Methodist on Elm Street and watched three people pull out teeth on the bitter lumps of expired leavening I'd been using since last fall, has anyone else had a bad batch ruin a dish at a public event?

Last fall, huh? You might want to check the date on that can, cause baking powder usually only stays good for like 6 months. I bet it was one of those huge double-acting containers you got on sale at the Piggly Wiggly. Did you notice if the bread didn't rise right before you even put it in the oven?

Hill.jade, you ever try sifting your baking powder through a fine mesh strainer before using?
