That $15 'family heirloom' recipe binder from Etsy gave me sticker shock

I bought a fancy recipe binder from a shop called Granny's Kitchen Treasures for $15, thinking it would organize my grandma's old cards. Turned out the plastic sleeves were too small for her index-card sized recipes (like the ones with her famous peanut butter cookies from 1972). I had to cut every single sleeve with scissors (which took 2 hours) and now my coffee table is covered in sticky adhesive residue. Has anyone else dealt with Etsy sellers lying about dimensions?

Taped the recipe cards to plain printer paper first before sliding them into the sleeves. It gave them enough width to fit snug without cutting anything. Also wiped down the sticky residue with some rubbing alcohol and a paper towel, took about 10 minutes. That binder was a pain but the recipes are worth saving even if the product was garbage.

Taping them first feels like extra work when you could just buy proper size sleeves instead.
