That time I spent $40 on a heritage grain cookbook and it sits on my shelf
I bought "The Nourishing Traditions" cookbook about six months ago because I wanted to make sourdough bread like my grandma did. It cost $40 and was all about using ancient grains and soaking methods. But the recipes are so complicated with weird ingredients that I've only made one thing from it. It was a cracked wheat porridge that took three hours to cook and tasted like cardboard. Now I just stick to my mom's basic white bread recipe that costs maybe $2 a loaf. Has anyone else dropped cash on a fancy cookbook that ended up being more trouble than it's worth?

Did you keep it for the fancy food pictures like I did with mine?

My 5-year-old one is still going strong, I don't get the hype about replacing them every year, @roberts.troy.
