Tried adding a half teaspoon of cinnamon to my spaghetti sauce like my grandma used to do and the whole pot tasted like dessert

I figured one little pinch wouldn't matter much. But it completely took over. Had to dump the whole batch. Next time I'll stick to a quarter teaspoon or just leave it out entirely. Has anyone else had a spice completely hijack their recipe?

Honestly, cinnamon in spaghetti sauce is a whole vibe if you do it right. Your grandma wasn't wrong, you just went overboard. A tiny pinch adds this warmth that cuts through the acidity, makes it taste like a real Sunday dinner.

Claire, you nailed it that a tiny pinch is key, just makes the whole pot taste like Sunday.
