Had a shoe twist on a draft horse in the middle of a trim today
I was working on a big Belgian in Redmond, and the clinch on the lateral heel just gave way as I was driving it. I had to pull the whole shoe, reshape it cold on the anvil, and reset it. Anyone have a good trick for keeping a clinch tight on a really wide foot like that?

Try a crease nail. I've had better luck with them holding on wide heels than regular ones.

Always thought they were a gimmick, but you're right, they actually work.

Crease nails can help, but honestly, a good hot clinch is still the best bet for a wide heel like that.
