Heads up about that horse rescue near Billings...

Stopped in to check out their farrier setup last week. Told the guy I'd take a look at their forge. That thing is busted in a weird way - the fire's not even the right temp for shaping. They're burning up shoes left and right. If you're donating time out there, bring your own propane setup. Has anyone else run into this problem with volunteer spots?

Funny, I was out there Tuesday and the forge seemed fine to me. Maybe you hit it on a bad day or the guy was still dialing it in.

Funny you mention that... a buddy of mine went last Wednesday and said the same thing at first, thought the guy was just off. Then he noticed the bastard actually forgot to tighten a bolt on the handle after he swapped out the face. Made this weird clanking noise every time he swung it, almost lost his grip on a hot piece. It's a real mixed bag out there, you never know who you're gonna get.
