Held out on using glue-on shoes for years, finally caved after a rough winter

I had a horse in Amarillo with a cracked hoof that just wouldn't hold nails no matter what I tried. Buddy of mine kept telling me to try the glue-ons from Sound Horse, said they'd buy me time. After 6 weeks of fighting it I put a set on and the difference in hoof growth was night and day. Anyone else had luck with glue-ons for rehab cases?

I had a different experience trying glue-ons from a brand I can't remember for a rehab case back in 2019, they just peeled off after a week and left me with a mess to clean up. Not saying it's always bad, but your mileage may vary if the hoof wall is compromised.

Does it feel like with so many things nowadays, it's either amazing or a total headache with no middle ground? I had a pair of those cheap stick-on sunglasses for driving that were supposed to be great, but they just fell off the second I got them hot. It reminds me of trying those fancy reusable shopping bags that are supposed to fold up perfect but then the seams rip after two trips. It really is a pattern where the idea is solid but the actual making of it just doesn't hold up when you push it a bit. You ever notice how many problems come down to that one weak link in the chain?
