I finally figured out why my horses kept pulling shoes on that one gravel patch

After three months of resetting the same front shoe every two weeks, last Tuesday I checked the hoof angle with a gauge and realized the toe was too long by almost a quarter inch, has anyone else found that a tiny measurement change makes that much difference on gravel?

That tiny change makes a massive difference on gravel especially, the toe being long messes with the breakover and they start grabbing at the surface. Trimmed it back and haven't had a single pull since.

Nah, I actually think a shorter toe makes it worse for me.
