Spent 3 hours trying to nail a tricky hind shoe on a nervous mare before I realized my anvil was sitting on a slightly uneven surface
It took me forever to figure out why my shoe kept sitting crooked, and turns out my anvil was off by about a quarter inch on one leg - has anyone else wasted time chasing a problem that turned out to be something dumb like that?

Ever just stop and level everything from scratch? I wasted a whole morning once on a fence post that kept racking - leveled the ground under the base plate and it went smooth after that. Sometimes you gotta step back and check the simple stuff first, saves hours of frustration.
