That fancy forge-welded nail I was dead set against... turns out it works

I've been using standard nails for 15 years on all my shoeing jobs but a client in Waco insisted I try these on her OTTB with brittle hooves. After 8 weeks of seeing zero cracks or loosened shoes, I'm converted. Has anyone else had luck switching nail types for specific horses?

Tbh I was the same way. Been using standard nails forever and figured why fix what aint broke. But a buddy talked me into trying the forged ones on a few problem horses and now I wont go back for certain cases. They just hold better in that soft, crumbly hoof wall.

Funny how that works with so much stuff though. Once you find the right tool for a specific problem it's hard to look back. Kinda like how I used to just use whatever random screwdriver was lying around until I got a proper set and now I cant imagine not having the right one for the job lmao.
