That time a client insisted I try hoof packing with plain yogurt for thrush

I figured it was just a weird old wives' tale, but after seeing a stubborn case clear up in under a week on a draft horse in Albany, I'm a believer.

Worked at a barn that tried yogurt for thrush years ago. Saw it make a real mess that got infected. The sugar in it can feed bacteria. We stick with proven antifungal treatments now.

That's a really good point about the sugar. Hadn't thought of it that way before.

Yeah, that sugar thing felixw68 mentioned is why my vet warned against home remedies.
