Blew $120 on a pair of designer sewing shears that went dull after 3 projects

I was so sure those fancy German-brand shears would last forever, but now I'm stuck with scissors that can't even cut through a basic cotton muslin, and has anyone else had better luck with a certain brand that actually holds an edge for more than a week?

Some German brands are super overrated honestly. I had a pair of expensive shears that were supposed to be the best, and they went dull just cutting through some thin cotton. It's wild how $120 can just disappear into a pair of scissors that can't even handle basic muslin without snagging. Maybe that brand is relying on the name more than the actual quality of the steel.

Notice how that same pattern shows up everywhere these days... people pay triple for a "premium" brand name but get the same basic quality you'd find in a mid-range pair. It's like we're all just paying for the logo stamped on the side instead of what actually matters.
