Finally got convinced to try a magnetic level on a long run fence
Been using a string level for years because I figured magnets were a gimmick. Last week I had to set 80 feet of chain link on a sloped yard in Medford. Borrowed a magnetic one from a buddy and it cut my time by maybe 30 minutes just from not fighting the string sag. Has anyone else switched to a different tool and noticed a bigger change than expected?

String sag" sounds like a band name, not a level problem.

Does it ever feel like once you upgrade one tool in your workflow, it makes you wonder what else you've been stubborn about the whole time? I've noticed it with random stuff like switching to a good knife sharpener after years of just letting my kitchen knives go dull. It's wild how a small change can make you feel like you wasted months on the old way of doing things.
