Bulk buying clash: Real savings or just more stuff?
Friends swear by bulk buys for lower bills, but I've tossed expired items. Is the initial spend worth it for long-term savings? Jump in with your take.

Used to load up my cart at those wholesale clubs every month... thought I was beating the system. Then I found myself throwing out half-used bags of rice and expired cans. That waste started eating at me, honestly. Now I only buy in bulk for things we go through fast, like paper towels or my coffee. The rest? I grab regular sizes when needed. Saves more money in the long run because nothing gets tossed.

Yeah, I fell for that with giant jars of salsa. Bought a Costco-sized one, used it twice, and it sat in the fridge growing new life forms. Now I only bulk-buy toilet paper and laundry detergent, things that don't expire. For everything else, I grab the small size even if the unit price is higher. Beats watching money spoil in the back of a cupboard.
