Hot take: I was dead wrong about index funds being boring until I actually looked at my 401k returns after 5 years
I used to think picking individual stocks was the only way to make real money, but after tracking my buddy's index fund against my active trading over 3 years, his account grew 22% while mine barely hit 8% after fees and bad picks - so which side are you on, active or passive investing?

Holding onto the winning one feels pretty good though, doesn't it?

Stick with the loser until it turns around or you'll regret dumping it cheap. I held onto some crypto that dropped 70% and everyone told me to cut my losses. It took two years but it finally bounced back and I came out ahead. Why do you think jumping ship early is always the smart move?
