Just found out my bank was charging me $12 a month for a service I never asked for
I was looking over my account statement from last month and saw a line item for 'premier account maintenance'. I called them up and after 20 minutes on hold, they told me it was for paper statements and some fraud alert thing. I've been on paperless billing for years and never signed up for the other service. They gave me a refund for the last three months, which is $36. It's not a huge amount, but it adds up over a year. Has anyone else had a bank quietly add fees like this?

Classic, they just hope you won't notice.

Totally, "hope you won't notice" is the whole game. I just found a "service fee" on my takeout order that was never mentioned until the final screen. Same with my phone bill, they added some "network recovery fee" in tiny print. It's everywhere now, just sneaking in a few extra bucks.
