Learned that compound interest on my coffee habit costs me $1,200 a year

I ran the numbers on a calculator app after seeing a post about small daily expenses. My 4 dollar latte every workday plus interest over a year adds up to way more than I thought. Has anyone else calculated something small that surprised you?

Whoa, that's wild. I saw a video where a guy broke down how much you could save just by cutting out a daily energy drink and putting that money into a basic index fund. It really makes you think about those little things that feel like nothing in the moment but add up huge over time. I mean, forty bucks a month might not seem like much, but it's more about the habit than the single purchase. Maybe it's just me but I feel like we all know this stuff in the back of our minds but seeing the actual number in black and white hits different.
