My grocery budget dropped $40 a week after I started meal prepping on Sundays
I was spending like $120 a week on takeout and random groceries in Austin, but after 3 months of strict Sunday meal prep I'm down to $80 and eating way better. Anyone else see a big shift in their spending from just planning ahead?

And @river351 is right, that impulse spending habit just magically vanishes once you plan.

Man my first week of meal prepping in Austin was a disaster, I burned everything and ate sad undercooked chicken for three days straight... but yeah once I got the hang of it my spending dropped like crazy too. I used to grab that $15 poke bowl from the place on Congress way too often, plus random snacks from H-E-B that added up fast. Now I just spend $60-70 at the store for the whole week and actually have leftovers to freeze. It's wild how much just having food ready keeps me from making those dumb impulse runs.
