TIL my friend's 'emergency fund' was just $500 in a checking account...
That's not enough to cover a single car repair or a week of missed shifts, and it's a huge risk. How much do you all actually keep set aside for real emergencies?

My rule is three months of bills minimum, so about six grand. That $500 would just make me more stressed.
