Hit 500 invoices my first year and it hit me how small that number actually is for a business
When I started my pest control company I thought cranking out 500 jobs would mean I was rolling in cash, but after taxes and equipment costs I barely broke even. Anybody else get surprised by how little a big milestone actually pays off?

Beat the grind just to feed the machine.

500 invoices and barely broke even? That hits hard. After taxes, equipment, and all the little costs that nickel and dime you, the number on paper doesn't match what lands in your pocket. I know a guy who bragged about 600 jobs his second year, then spent half his profit replacing a truck transmission. It's brutal how much overhead eats into a milestone like that. Really makes you wonder what the point of grinding that hard is if the math doesn't work out better.
