Thought my boss was crazy about taking notes by hand, but now I get it

Started my first office job 3 months ago and my manager kept telling me to write down everything in a physical notebook instead of typing it on my laptop. I was sure she was just old school and that typing was faster and easier to search. Turns out I remember way more when I write it by hand and I don't get distracted by email notifications. Has anyone else found that a simple paper notebook actually works better for staying on track?

Mine lasted exactly 2 days before I gave up and went back to typing lol.

Oh man, sounds like my attempt with that fancy voice-to-text app... spent an hour saying "comma" and "period" out loud only to realize my grocery list turned into a poem about pickles. Whole thing felt like teaching a parrot to type, honestly. Gave up when it kept turning "postal route" into "ghostly brute" like that's even a thing people say.
