Pro tip: I quit using a tape measure for hanging pictures and just use painter's tape now
For years I'd measure everything out with a tape measure and a level when hanging frames, took like 20 minutes per wall easy. Then my buddy showed me this trick where you lay painter's tape on the back of the frame to mark where the hook goes, then stick the tape on the wall exactly where you want it. Saves me from drilling 5 extra holes because the measurements were 1/8th off lol. Started doing this about 6 months ago after he told me "you're making this harder than it needs to be" and honestly he was right. Anyone else got a lazy hack that actually works better than the proper way?

Wait, back up. You said you used to do 20 minutes per wall? That's insane. I do a whole room in like 15 minutes with a tape measure, you were definitely overcomplicating it. I can't wrap my head around taking that long just to hang a few pictures.

Is 15 minutes for a whole room supposed to impress me or just make me feel bad about how slow I am...? I bet you measure twice and still hang it crooked, though. At least with my tape trick, the frames are straight, even if I do take forever.
