Cable management boxes are a scam, I used a binder clip instead
My desk was a rat's nest of cords for like 2 years. Bought one of those plastic cable management boxes for $20, looked okay but cords still poked out the sides and it collected dust like crazy. On a whim I took a big binder clip, stuck it to the back edge of my desk, and ran my monitor cable through the metal loops. Same for the keyboard cable. Whole setup is clean now, cost me maybe 50 cents per clip. Has anyone else found a cheap hack that worked better than the official solution?

Huh, so did the binder clips actually hold the heavier cords steady without slipping off? That's always been my worry with trying stuff like that.

Saw my roommate do almost the exact same thing, except he used those little black binder clips with the handles that fold down? He clipped like four of them along the back of his monitor stand and ran every cable through the loops, it looked way cleaner than my overpriced box that just sat on the floor collecting cat hair. The best part was he could still unplug things easily without wrestling with a lid or digging through a dusty plastic cave. I swear sometimes the official solutions are just made by people who never actually had a messy desk in their life (you know, in a boardroom somewhere with a whiteboard). Now I keep a pack of binder clips in my drawer for everything, they even hold my phone charger in place against my nightstand.
