I finally cleaned out my desk drawer after 4 years

Found 3 dead pens, a 2019 receipt for a sandwich, and a screwdriver I borrowed from my neighbor Gary that I completely forgot about. Has anyone else found random stuff in their workspace that makes you question your life choices?

Did you at least give the screwdriver back to Gary or is that thing living rent free in your drawer for another 4 years? That 2019 receipt is basically a museum exhibit now, I'm pretty sure that sandwich spot is either out of business or charging luxury prices for the same soggy bread. Dead pens are the universe's way of telling us we need to stop being lazy and just throw things away instead of pretending we'll use them later.

The screwdriver from Gary is actually the most valuable thing in there, neighbor tools are sacred and now you owe him a favor. But the 2019 receipt got me thinking, that sandwich probably cost like $8 back then and now it would be $12 with inflation. Dead pens are just a desk ritual at this point, I swear unused pens multiply and working ones evaporate into another dimension. Maybe the real question isn't about your life choices but about how we all just accept that desk drawers become time capsules without us noticing.
