My cat decided my desk was his bed during a Zoom call last week...
I was in a big meeting with my boss last Thursday and my cat, Whiskers, jumped up and sprawled right across my keyboard. He knocked over my coffee mug and sent papers flying everywhere... I just sat there frozen while my boss stared at me through the screen. After about 10 seconds of chaos, my coworker Dave yelled out "is that a cat or a paper shredder!" Has anyone else had their pet totally ruin their setup during an important call?

Put a cardboard box next to your desk, they'll pick that over the keyboard every time.

That's 100% true. Ryan @dixon.ryan nailed it. I had a cat who straight up ignored a fancy cat bed I bought, but I left an empty Amazon box on the floor for two minutes and she was curled up in it like it was a five star hotel. Best trick is to just rotate boxes out every few days to keep it interesting for them. Works every time.

Funny you mention that, my old cat Mittens used to do the same thing. I bought her this heated orthopedic bed from PetSmart once, cost me like 60 bucks. She wouldn't touch it for three months. Then I left a wrinkled up paper grocery bag on the floor next to it and she slept in the bag every single night for a year straight. Cats are weird like that, they just like the crinkly sounds and the enclosed feel I guess.
