I finally figured out why my vinyl plank cuts were always chipping

I was installing a big job in a Phoenix condo last month, using my usual utility knife to score and snap the planks. The client pointed out a bunch of tiny chips along the cut edges that I had to fill. It hit me that I was pulling the blade toward me on the final snap, putting pressure on the face layer. Now I push the blade away from my body on the snap cut and the edges are clean. What's your go-to method for getting a factory edge on a cut?

My first cuts looked like a beaver chewed them.

Haha that's a perfect way to put it, @laura_white99. What were you trying to cut when the beaver took over?

Oh man, did you at least get the beaver to finish the job for you?
