Used to glue down every single transition strip, now I let them float

For 5 years I glued every threshold and T-molding tight to the subfloor, but after a callback in Austin where a glued strip buckled from expansion, I switched to letting them float with the flooring. Been doing it that way for 2 years now with zero callbacks - am I missing something by not gluing them anymore?

Hell yeah, letting them breathe with the floor just makes sense.

Saw a YouTube video where a guy tested that and said the same thing. Something about air circulation stopping the rubber from getting that weird hard glaze.
