Walked into a new house in Phoenix and the subfloor was complete trash

I went to a job last Tuesday out in Goodyear and the builder used OSB with gaps big enough to fit a quarter through. They didn't even bother to sweep or vacuum before laying carpet pad down either. Has anyone else dealt with builders cutting corners like this on the subfloor prep?

Yeah that's junk work. Check for level next time, it'll save you headaches.

A quarter inch gap? That's wild. I've seen some sloppy OSB work but that's unreal. Were they just tossing the sheets down and stapling them in place without even looking? I bet the floor feels like a trampoline in spots. Good luck getting carpet to lay flat over that mess without buckling in a year. Someone should have flagged that before the pad went down.
