I thought those 'flower food' packets were just colored sugar water.

I got a free sample pack of a new brand called 'BloomLife' with a wholesale order last month and tried it on a batch of white roses that usually droop after 2 days. They stayed crisp and upright for a full 6 days, which is a record for my shop. What other little things have you all tried that actually made a real difference?

The water temperature trick changed everything for my hydrangeas. I read a study from a university in the Netherlands that said using lukewarm water, not cold from the tap, helps stems take it up faster. Honestly I was skeptical but I tried it with a delivery of mixed bouquets last summer. Tbh the ones in warm water looked noticeably better by the end of the second day, less wilting in the filler greens. It costs nothing and now it's just part of my routine.

Honestly that makes so much sense about the water temp. Tbh I started doing the same thing after my mom told me to try it with store bought tulips. Ngl I thought she was just being extra, but the warm water bunch stayed perky for like two days longer than the cold one. It's such a simple fix, feels dumb not to do it.
