Peonies at the farmer's market in Nashville stopped me in my tracks
I was just picking up some basil plants but a vendor had these huge coral peonies that were practically glowing. They must have been 6 inches across each bloom. Made me realize I need to order more of those Sarah Bernhardt bulbs for next spring. Has anyone else seen a color that just made you stop and stare for a minute?

Nah, coral peonies actually hold their color a lot better than that.

Peonies are alright but honestly I don't get the hype. They're just big puffy flowers that end up flopping over in the rain and turning into a mushy mess. Plus they smell like a weird mix of roses and old lady perfume. If you want a flower that actually holds up and has some structure try some zinnias or dahlias instead. That coral color fades fast too, within a few days that whole bloom turns into a brown paper bag on a stem. Not worth the money for something that looks rough after a week.
