TIL that bulk flower order from a new wholesaler cost me $150 in dead stock

I jumped on a deal from a wholesaler I had never used before, bought 200 stems of spray roses for a wedding order, and half of them arrived with botrytis. By the time the wedding hit on Saturday, I had to trash over 60 stems and scramble to find replacements. Has anyone else taken a gamble on a cheaper supplier and got burned like this, or was it just me being too trusting?

Jumped on a similar deal last spring with a grower I found on Instagram... got 100 stems of garden roses for half what I usually pay and they showed up looking fine but three days later half of them had their heads drooping like they gave up on life. Did you get any kind of refund or credit from that wholesaler or did you just eat the loss?

Used to think Instagram deals were safe but yeah, learned that lesson the hard way too.
