Guy running a taco truck in Austin showed me a better way to fold burritos

Was waiting for my order at this truck on South Lamar. Dude behind the counter saw me struggling to wrap one. He just grabbed a fresh tortilla, showed me this tuck-and-roll move in 10 seconds. Never had a burrito fall apart since. You guys ever get a tip like that from a random vendor?

Honestly, that tuck-and-roll move is a game changer. I had a guy at a trailer on Rainey Street show me the same thing a couple years back. He said the trick is to fold the sides in first, then roll it tight like a sleeping bag. Ngl, I used to just wrap them like a present and they'd burst open halfway through. Now I do it every time and taco truck guys always nod when they see me doing it right. Tbh most people get way too fancy with burritos when it's really just about that one simple fold.

@tyler_hall9 you're acting like folding a burrito is some kind of life changing revelation. It's a tortilla with stuff in it, not rocket science. I've seen dudes at food trucks just slop everything on there and wrap it up however and it still tastes fine. Yeah sure, your way might keep it from falling apart a little better but who really cares that much? The taco truck guys are probably just being polite because you're standing there staring at them for validation. At the end of the day you're still gonna eat it in three bites and it's all gonna end up in the same place.
