My generator died halfway through lunch service on a Saturday
Last month my old Honda EU2000i just gave out right as the lunch rush hit at our spot in downtown Austin. I had 15 people in line and no power for the fryer or the register. I had to run to the nearest Home Depot (8 blocks away) and grab a Predator 3500 for $800 just to finish the day. It actually worked fine but the whole thing cost me about an hour of sales and a lot of stress. Has anyone else had a backup plan fail on them like this, or do you all carry a spare generator?

Damn man, that sounds brutal. Running 8 blocks in the middle of a Saturday rush is exactly the kind of nightmare I try to plan around.

Honestly, I gotta push back a little on "8 blocks." If you're talking about midtown during a Saturday, that's closer to like 10 or 11 blocks depending on where you start. I used to do deliveries in that area and the blocks are way shorter than uptown, but still a solid mile at least. Not trying to be that guy but it makes the whole run sound even worse when you realize the real distance.
