Can we talk about how my old iPod classic finally gave up the ghost?

I still used my 2007 iPod classic with the click wheel on my commute in Chicago, but it just started skipping and freezing last Tuesday. Turns out the hard drive was failing after all these years, so I swapped in a cheap SD card adapter I found online for about 25 bucks. Now it runs silent and holds more music than before - anyone else try this fix on theirs?

Did you have to format the card a specific way or just straight swap with a fresh image?

oh man yeah, straight swap with a fresh image works fine. i just flashed the new sd card on my pc with balena etcher and popped it in. no formatting tricks needed, honest.
