Found a weird way to stop sand from sticking to the flask in our humid shop

Our molding sand was sticking like glue to the old steel flasks every summer, especially in July. I tried a light dusting of powdered graphite, about half a cup per batch, mixed right into the facing sand. It cut our sticking problems by maybe 80% and the graphite burns off clean. Anyone else in a muggy climate have a different fix for this?

Wait, half a cup per batch? That seems like a crazy amount of graphite to just mix in. I'd be worried about the cost adding up fast, even if it does burn off clean.

Graphite is the classic fix, but it IS pricey. A light spray of WD-40 on the flask walls before you ram works just as well in our shop.
