My road trip includes a detour through steel country
I'm driving from Ohio to Missouri next week. Are there any working foundries open for tours along the route? I'd like to pick up some new ideas.

That Indiana tour Blake mentioned had a three-hour wait when I tried, so I feel your planning pain.

Check out the Indiana Steel & Wire tour if it fits your route, you'll need to book ahead. It's one of the few places that still does a proper walk-through when the furnaces are running.
