The week our sand mixer gave out during a big order for the city
We had to finish 120 manhole covers for the city of Springfield by Friday, and the main sand mixer just quit on Tuesday morning. Me and Carl spent three hours trying to fix the old thing before the foreman had to call in a rental, which set us back a full day. We ended up working two 12-hour shifts back-to-back to catch up, and I swear my arms are still sore. Anyone ever have a major piece of gear fail right in the middle of a rush job like that?

Tell your foreman to keep the contact info for a good rental place on speed dial for next time. We learned the hard way after our core machine died during a bridge job. Now we do a full check on all the big gear before we even start a huge city contract. Those back to back shifts are brutal, but getting that rental lined up fast is the only way to dig out of the hole.

Full check" sounds good but what about the gear that passes and then dies anyway?
