My dad's old tackle box reminded me of something today

I was cleaning out the garage and found his old metal tackle box from the 70s. This thing is dented to hell but everything inside is still in pretty good shape, even the old wooden lures. Made me think about how we used to spend whole Saturdays at the lake near Greenville without cell phones or anything, just a cooler and some sandwiches. Anyone else have an old family item that just brings back a flood of memories like that?

You ever seen a grown man tear up over a coffee can? Buddy of mine found his old man's Folgers can in the attic stuffed with rusty sinkers and a handwritten note about the one that got away. Said he sat there for twenty minutes just holding it, couldn't even explain why it hit him that hard.

Used to think old tackle boxes were just junk taking up space, but finding my grandpa's old one with handwritten fishing spots on the inside lid totally flipped my view. Now I get why people hold onto this stuff, it's like a time machine made of rusty hooks and faded lures. That memory of Saturdays at the lake is way more valuable than any new gear I could buy.
