Rant: I was salting my pasta water WRONG for years
I always followed the whole 'salty like the sea' thing and dumped in like a tablespoon per pot. Last week my friend from Italy watched me cook and literally laughed. She said I was wasting salt because most of it goes down the drain and you only need enough to season the pasta itself, not the whole ocean. Tried it her way with just a teaspoon and guess what? Tasted exactly the same. Has anyone else realized they were overdoing some kitchen rule for no reason?

Next you're gonna tell me I don't need to cry into my risotto for "authentic flavor". I've been doing the tablespoon thing forever too and now I feel personally attacked by a teaspoon. Guess I'll save my salt money for something useful like buying more pasta.

How long did it take you to figure out the rest of the recipe might also be wrong?

bruh the crying into risotto thing got me dead π but fr tho, how many other recipes are we just blindly following without questioning? like were you just following this one blindly for years or did you have a moment where you started second guessing other stuff too? cause i swear half the baking recipes online have you doing weird stuff just for clicks and views.
