Serious question, does hitting a specific monthly savings number actually change how you feel about money?
I plugged away at my savings for years and hit $10,000 last month. It was this random Tuesday when I checked my bank app during lunch. I expected to feel like I made it, like some weight lifted off my shoulders. But honestly, I just felt the same. My same old car still needs tires, and rent is still due. It got me wondering if milestones even matter for how we think about money. Maybe the real change comes slower, from tiny habits, not big numbers. Or maybe I just picked the wrong goal to chase. Has anyone else hit a savings target and felt totally flat about it?

Hitting a number is just a snapshot, but the real shift happens when you stop needing the milestone to feel okay about your money. It's like how losing ten pounds doesn't suddenly make you love your body, you gotta unpack all that smaller stuff along the way.

Hey man, I gotta push back a little here. I think hitting that number does matter more than you're giving it credit for. Seeing that balance or that scale drop is like proof that all your habits and sacrifices actually worked, and that feeling can be the fuel you need to keep going.
