Tried painting my kitchen cabinets last Saturday and it's a disaster

I started sanding them down around 9 AM and by noon I had primer on one door. The paint is already peeling in a corner and I barely touched it. I think I skipped the cleaning step or used the wrong primer. Has anyone else had cabinets just reject paint like this?

Totally agree, I spent a full weekend doing the same thing to a single closet door (my arm was basically dead by Sunday night). It made me question every life choice that led me to that moment.
