Am I the only one who raised my rates by 30% and immediately landed a better client?

I was scared to do it, but after a slow February I told the next inquiry my day rate was $850. They hired me for a 3 week project in Chicago without even negotiating. Has anyone else had a client just say yes to a big jump?

Man, I was over here doing mental math on a 10% bump like I was cracking the Da Vinci code. You just went for it and it worked. Guess my fear of being told no is worth exactly zero dollars. Good on you, that Chicago client just proved your old rate was a joke.
