Heard two freelancers arguing about fixed price vs hourly at a co-working space in Denver last week
One said fixed price billing gives clients peace of mind so they stop micromanaging, but the other swore hourly keeps scope creep in check and pointed to a $2,000 project that turned into $5,000 worth of work - what's your take on which method actually protects you better long term?

Man that $2k to $5k story hits way too close to home. Had a client once who thought "just add a blog section" meant like an hour of work when really it was a whole new content system. Fixed price can feel great upfront but man does it bite you later when you're not great at guessing the future.

You ever had a client suddenly add "just one more little thing" every week? Hourly saved my butt on a logo project that somehow turned into a full branding package. Fixed price feels good until you're doing free work for two months straight. But hey, if you're real good at estimating scope, fixed can pay off big.
