Wait, so was it mostly about learning to push back on extra work? I've tried a few free methods before but they just made my to-do list longer. Did the course give you actual scripts for saying no to your boss or a client? Like what do you even say when they drop a "quick thing" on you at 4 PM on a Friday?

Exactly. The script is basically "I can get to that first thing Monday morning if you want, but it won't be today." You say it calm and flat, no apologizing. When they drop that Friday 4 PM thing, just say "I've got a hard stop at 5 today. If this can't wait until Monday, who should I hand my current stuff off to so I can focus on this?" That usually makes them realize it's not a "quick thing" after all. The real trick is not offering to stay late or squeeze it in. You just state your boundary like it's a fact, not a request.

That course probably taught you how to say no to extra tasks without feeling bad. A lot of people miss that the real value is in protecting your time, not just organizing it. You stop agreeing to every little request that blows up your schedule. Is that what made the biggest difference for you, getting that control back?
