My worst week ever started with a $5,000 client ghosting me
It was a Tuesday in March when the email chain for a huge branding project just went dead, two days before the final payment was due. I had already turned down other work to focus on it. By Friday, I was scrambling, sending out ten pitches a day from my kitchen table in Austin. Anyone else had a big client vanish right at the finish line? How did you bounce back?

Ask if they ever got any kind of explanation later or if it was just total silence. That kind of thing can eat at you wondering what you could have done different. I find knowing the real reason helps me stop replaying it over and over.

That ghosting right before the final payment is the absolute worst... brutal way to learn that lesson.

Watched a friend build a whole website for a client over three weeks. They were emailing every day, everything seemed perfect. The client vanished the day before the last invoice was due, phone disconnected and everything. It felt like such a cheap move, you know? That story always comes to mind when I see posts like yours, @shane_williams. Just shows some people have no problem wasting your time when they get what they need.
